Though not the most comfortable of health care preventative measures, immunizations can offer powerful protection against diseases.
This week marks World Immunization Week to highlight the ways in which vaccinations serve to shield us from disease.
It is also National Infant Immunization Week – an important time to consider protection of your little one with proper vaccination.
“Immunization is one of the most successful and cost-effective health interventions—it currently averts an estimated 2 to 3 million deaths every year in all age groups from diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough), and measles,” – Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
It added that 2-3 million deaths could be avoided each year through proper vaccination.
